King Neptune’s Retirement (#writephoto)

Neptune Image by KL CALEY

~ā™„~

King Neptune still cut

A handsome figure in his

Trim-toned verdigris

Years, graced with rich patina…

And he enjoyed retirement

~

With Spring came fishing

Lazy days, slow water’s gleam

But Salacia

Beloved wife he’d yearned for

Had a different agenda

~

Women…go figure

She loved bustling marketplace

Craft fairs, pottery

Pleaded, wheedled:Ā  “Come on, Hon…

We might find a new statue”

The World As Boat

Is peopled world boat

Commodious, attempting

Channel maneuvers

‘Mid sustainability

Lacking perfectly pristine

Material?Ā  It’s

Carrying burdened

Passengers—hungry, angry

Manners forgotten

Wearied by lengthy voyage

Sea’s tumultuous trial…

They long to be free

Of cramped quarters, restrictions

Repetitious tales

Passports may be lost, questioned…

Hopes, incentive: cloudy sky.

Not Lukewarm (faith)

Lukewarm faith won’t keep

March winds from chafing spirit

Got to hunker down

‘Neath Comforter in God’s Word

Where Pillar of Fire blazes

Lord leads heart true by day, night

“…the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father…” John 15:26, King James Bible

“And the LORD went before them in a pillar of cloud to guide their way by day, and in a pillar of fire to give them light by night, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place before the people.” Exodus 13:21-22, Berean Study Bible

“You, in Your great compassion, Did not abandon them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, To guide them on their way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go.” Nehemiah 9:19, New American Standard Bible
